Farm Profitability:Trade Matters

TAWC wants to see a strong farming sector in the UK and is pleased that the Government has asked Baroness Minette Batters to conduct a review on farm profitability. The UK farming sector operates to good standards, however this will be undermined if we allow the import of lower standard products that offer lower prices and force UK farmers to cut costs. This paper outlines some of the measures which the Government could introduce to prevent lower standards imports undermining farm profitability.
